Bus. Train. Impromptu. I like.

Hmm. Today I attended RCULA course. Responsible Care and Use of Laboratory Animals. The subjects were white rats, each the size of your forearm. Quite tamed I would say. Very cute. Too bad I couldn't snap a few photos. The people there are quite strict over the rules and regulations.

Ok now. I must say... although there are guidelines to govern all the animal handling and all the ethnical methods and what not... I must say that lab rats are seriously SAD. It is really quite cruel.

The way some of the noobs ( these includes some Kiasu China man, some ignorant guy, some who thinks he knows it all guy) handled the rats is really a torture to the rats I must say. They dont follow the proper anaesthetic procedures. They inject the rats and draw blood from the heart of the poor rat when it is not even fully anaesthized. Seriously, I feel like smacking them. FIRRATING. The rats were obviously in pain. ARGH! Hmm... and they happily poke and poke and poke and poke and poke, trying to draw some minute amount of blood when their technique is wrong! AND they were using the wrong needle size.

We learnt the following....

1. Restraining the animal
2. Determining the sex of the animal
3. Blood collection from the tail, the neck and the heart
4. Injection through various pathway.

The sad thing is... after all the experiments... The rats will all be euthanized in a CO2 chamber where they will be put to sleep. To demostrate the terminal blood collection from the heart, the instructor prick the heart of the rat and the next thing we know, the rat is delivered to the chamber. The reason being the moment the rat recovers from the anaesthetic effect, it will in serious pain. So to minimize its suffering, it goes to the chamber.

Alritey. So much for the course. Quite a experience. Not a very pleasant one though.

Tmr will be mice handling. Hopefully it will be slightly better?

After the course, it was lunch at engine. Then off to swimming! yeS! swimming. haHAa! slack and stoned before being pushed to swim 1 pathetic lap. hAHaha. tired la....Just like to slack in the pool. haha! After swimming, it was supposedly climbing session. BUT.. you know... after bathing, you feel so comfortable, you just dont wanna move. hahaa! so left th gym and headed home for some nice afternoon nap! till now....

And what did I do for the past few days? Lets see......

Wednesday
Climbing for 2hours then Via ferrata! quite fun i would say! Very safe and the height is quite exciting. Especially the abseiling part. Thanks to Lydia and Andy for the warm hospitality there man! Much appreciated. They provided sturdy Canon Camera, clipped onto our harnesses! cool stuff man! Seriously, now i am considering working there part time. It is something I like! I can feel it. Some say it might get boring after awhile. But... it seems fine to me! Should i?

Tuesday

Work as usual. I managed to get a whooping 16calls that day! Each worth 7bucks! wooHoo! Luck was on my side I must say! After work, I went home and went for a jog. I didnt know how long the route was. I clocked 10km...around 53mins... Tsk... I was dragging myself man.. Mumbling words to keep myself focused. Hmm... Then at night, went for random FROLICK tasting. Hmm.. I must say I personally prefer YAMI (or is it YUMI) yoghurt. hahaah!

Monday

Work as usual then left early to meet some of them at Keppel Island for Shu's birthday. It is a very nice place to take photos. Go facebook to check out some of the photos. Not too pro but enough for viewing pleasure.

Sunday and Saturday

Rockmaster! Spent the whole day there supporting the team. Hmm. Routes were quite ok I supposed? Though some of the endings were slightly hard? Yeah. Super endurance kind of routes. Then in between categories, it was MacDonald's trip. Random nuggets and Fries and to top it off, Ice cold COKE. =) After the competition on Sunday, we went 18chefs and then airport to sort of celebrate shu's birthday on the dot! haha!

Hmm... I TALKED SO MUCH! My blog is like constipation. No words for a couple of days/weeks. But once I have the mood to post, it floods. Muahaha. Words.... Nothing much coming up in the next few weeks. Rockmaster should be the highlight. WORK, CLIMB (vertical), Convention and the ever uncertain Krabi trip. HMm.. Bloody H1N1 is messing up everything!

oh oh! I forgot to mention. I bought my a seagate hard disk from the pc show! 320gb for $119. Yixiang got it at $109. hahaha! Damn.

Ice cream chef is nice too!

OH OH! ONE LAST THING! I wanna buy that north face bag from ken! The red one. BUT.. it has abit of pink in it!

Awaiting for more random and impromptu events to occur. Love it. =) More More!

Essential yet appealed

Hmm... I did 6 vertical climbs today. Not too bad. Never pumped out too quickly. Courage level up. Muahaha.

Considering how long I never climbed vertical already, I think I did fine today. Though abit hestitant once in a while. But with Boris. I mean Doris and Sandra around, motivating and supporting you in unconventionl ways, I was quite psyched to try routes today. The finale was the red route which I gave up. hahaa. Till next time...

Then it was off to town to cut hair and walk around while waiting for Doris and Shuhui to finish their meeting. Walked around aimlessly with Jud and San. Talk cock and alot of other frandom stuff. Dinner at Shohuku? Shodaku? Shohaku? I don't know how to spell la. the MArche style japanese food chain B1 of heeren. hahaHa. so so only la. Refused to buy the FExpensive can drink which costs like 4follars. =P

Then walked to Orchard Central where the Via ferrata wall is. Cool stuff man. Damn high. Nice. First 10 customers of the day for the next 2 weeks get free climbs! so boys and girls. LEts GO...

And I returned home with a silver head thanks to Doris and Jud.

This kinda sums up my day....

Tmr going for tetanus jab. Hopefully I dont fall sick. Got to work at CA tmr. Leading a course. 1st time. Hopefully it turns out well....

Lots of things happening. Lots of things not happening. Just go with the flow....

Sideline waiting.

Hmm...

This has been bugging me for a couple of days. And I need to let it out now since I am having a moodswing now. So might as well. If anyone involved feels offended, I apologise in advance.
I had a course last week at Climb Asia. It was a course for the young boys and girls. Super energetic kids. I took charge of bouldering introduction with Izzat, Sum and Winfred.

The kids were running around and it was quite messy. We had to like spot kids while they messed around. At one point in time, I was walking around trying to follow some kids who wanted to climb another wall and Liting (the lady in charge of the instructors) commented on something that I felt was rather disturbing. She commented I seem to be EATING SNAKE (slacking).

I have worked for so many courses and I dare say I have never lazed around when I am taking a course. Yes I may seem uninterested at times but I dare say I carry out my duties professionally. I dare swear. Just because I wasnt doing anything at the moment, doesnt mean I slacked.

I wasnt in charge of doing vertical belaying for that particular course. But seeing that Farah was shorthanded, I helped belayed a couple of the kids. It wasnt an obligation but I did it. Not claiming any credits here but you get what I mean.

K. Enough said. I didnt bother to explain to her at that point in time. Perhaps it was just a sweeping casual statement and perhaps she didnt mean it. I know she didnt mean it. I dont blame her and I will forget about this issue very soon. No hard feelings. After all, she is the boss and its her duty to ensure instructors are up to the standard.

But I just hate being accused of doing something that I never did. IT IS NOT JUSTIFIED. FPISSED. Especially when it comes to work.

To top it off, it doesnt help when you get a notification at 3am telling you that due to some cancellation of participants, you do not need to report to work the next day.

Yes. I am complaining and I am slightly upset. Yes. Moodswing perhaps

Not retaliating to nonsense and bullying doesnt mean the subject is fine with all the crap it is recieving. There is a limit and i believe most of the time you guys cross it unknowingly. In army we used to say... When you are too nice, people will take advantage of you and shit on your head.

On a lighter note.... here's a couple of photos.

I just don't like it when people doubt my integrity and my work capabilities. Perhaps I should stop being Mr Nice.

Erased

I happily went to update my E71 firmware without backing up my phone data.

DESPITE THE INSTRUCTIONS TELLING ME TO DO SO!

I thought Nokia would be similar to Ericsson.
BUT NO!
hai.... sad. Lost all my birthday messages. Lost all my overseas MMS. Lost all of other precious details..... Hmm... pain...

PAIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Busy week ahead. Courses @ CA.
This song keeps playing in my mind.
